6 Pianos

  • Steinkopf Gardens 555 Main Street Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada (map)

Always up for unusual opportunities in these unusual times, Madeline is collaborating with five other pianists in a performance for Nuit Blanche on Saturday. These six Manitobans, all well known in the arts community, will perform works by Steve Reich and Kate Moore on six keyboards in the Steinkopf Gardens, Winnipeg. Electro-acoustician Andy Rudolph provides a glowing orb with changing colours, triggered by audio inputs coming from each piano. Each 30-minute performance will be delivered hourly for a total of 5 times in an outdoor space. The auditory experience for each listener will vary depending on where they are situated. A feast for the senses to be sure.
