Madeline and Everett Hopfer take audiences on an exploration of dazzling soundscapes with a program of keyboard repertoire that defies expectation. Using the grand piano as a template, they push all kinds of extensions: processing live and fixed electronics, preparing the strings with foreign materials, and augmenting the sound with additional keyboard instruments.
Then, long-time collaborators and contributors to Cluster, Sarah Jo Kirsch and Madeline bring a musical offering about feeling way too much in a world of contradictions. Emotional extremes roil in this masterfully selected program of pieces.
Cellist Natanielle Felicitas, renowned for her cross-genre collaborative in Winnipeg’s music scene, will be presenting a rare solo performance in a premiere featuring cello and electronics.
Tickets go on sale May 10.
